Superlatives. I never realized just how often I use them. "Oh this is the funniest show ever" Do you know how many shows I've dubbed to be "the funniest ever"? No? Well neither do I. But, I can tell you this, when I was just watching an episode of How I Met Your Mother, for about the fifth time, I uttered that exact phrase. However I bet that I've said that in numerous shows. When I was younger it would have been in reference to Gilmore Girls, where I learned just how funny sarcasm could be. Later on it could have been Friends, and several others, but today it's HIMYM (the new Friends), tomorrow it will probably be New Girl. Which brings me to this question: How reliable am I? My opinions change daily, though this is based on something minute and unimportant as television, I'm sure I stick to character in other areas, how soon will it be until I say speak the words "greatest movie ever" or "Best food I've ever had"? Oh dear. I believe I've said these phrases even more than the former. Are superlatives ruining my life? Maybe. But it could also be the lack of sleep I've had over the past seven days (Insomnia one week anniversary!!)
I hope that where ever you are, you stick to your guns, that you aren't a superlative whore like I've found myself to be. I also really hope you've all been getting more sleep than I have, and I hope you're having a wonderful week
Because I missed it last week based on my feelings of being lazy on holidays, let me say this now. I am thankful for the life I lead, for the opportunities that are set before me, though I on the occasion make light of them. I am thankful for my family close-knit and extended, these are the people that will be with me till the end....whether they like it or not. I am also thankful for the people I choose to surround myself with, pleased with how new relationships have begun and grown and even happier with those I've been able to retain. I love you all, thank you for your support.
