College. Is a strange place.

Hello not sure if anyone actually reads this anymore, but if you do, I love you!!

So today has been a day of strange happenings in my surroundings, and really its just two things but due to the time concentration of the two events, it hit me with a higher magnitude than it normally would have.  So here I am in my awkward hour between classes and I felt it necessary to reflect on my morning.
My first class this morning is a pretty big lecture class on Archaeology, a word I am getting very tired of writing in my notebook, fun abbreviations, even if they aren't relevant would be appreciated in comment form!  Anyway, I always get to class thirty minutes early in order to get a spot on the front row.  And for the last three classes, I have sat next to the same guys.  Today however when I walked in, I could tell they were judging my messy hair and my thunder shirt, nike shorts combo.  By the way, let the record show that I actually come straight from the gym to this class so yes, one of few who rocks "norts" out of necessity.  But nonetheless, they were judging me.  Me.  Big senior on campus was being judged by, I could only assume, to lonely and weird freshmen boys.  So as I went to my seat, I felt kinda sad that they didn't think I was cool enough to sit next to them, but I pulled out my notebook to get ready anyway.  Not two seconds later did the one further from me whip out his iPhone and start up an app.  Then I hear this "dude use snorlax, USE SNORLAX!"  now, correct me if I'm wrong but Snorlax, is the name of a pokemon (I know I'm not wrong, pokemon for life) and again correct me if I'm wrong, but is that not a game for preteens from the 90's?  It is.  And I'm all for reliving childhood memories but for a guilty pleasure like pokemon? You pick front row of a very quiet lecture hall to yell out pokemon names and moves?  Bold.  Bold.  Anyway the point is I felt awesome and cool (even in my disarray) because at least I wasn't playing pokemon OUT LOUD in a two hundred person lecture hall, getting judged by everyone.
After my first class I have this lovely hour wait before the commencing of my following class so I pack a lunch, head over to my next building, climb to the second floor and sit in a comfy chair in the corner that has a slight view of the lobby below.  I like it here (here right now!!) because no one bothers me and no one else wants to sit up here.  But today, this day, while i was eating my container of peaches, some crazy art chick came bounding up the stairs and yells FREE BAGELS!!!!!  I look up from my diligent pinteresting to see a girl with a trash bag full of bagels!  Several people from down below begin to cheer as she is literally just chucking bagels from the balcony, there has never been a moment where I've wished to have my camera out more than I did twenty minutes ago.  People were catching them with their teeth, standing on chairs, and one poor girl with head phones even got hit in the head with one.  It was very enjoyable to be an onlooker in such a strange society of art students.
These two happenings of the day make me very happy that I chose to go to this university, as corny as the union makes it sound, there is always something to do on this campus.  I would like to thank all of the strangely awesome people I ran into today that absolutely made this the single funniest day ever, it was pretty awesome, and I can't wait to be around for more of it!

If you are in school, welcome  or welcome back, if you have a job, sorry boutcha
and as aways have a wonderful day and keep your eyes out for weird, awesome people!
