I've Been Keeping Things From You

Hello all, I must apologize for my hesitancy to post my creative writing works.  I still don't like any of them and ironically, the first I've chosen to share is the most un poetic poem thing in the world.  The premise of the assignment was simply to write a poem the described a work of art.  Well I'm not very great at following rules so I changed it a little to suit my own fancy, I chose a work of art, that might be cliche, and decided to look not only at the art, but also the artist, in this case, Vincent Van Gogh, and the piece, A Starry Night.  This was not my first choice, my first choice was one of his self portraits, but I thought that too obvious, I preferred a larger jump hence, my decision.  And here is the "poem", I hope it finds you well and that you enjoy  it!

The Starry Night
Artist: Vincent Van Gogh
It is night
the stars are out,
covering the heavens
with an etherial glow
The town below sits motionless in a valley
it is a quiet town, there is peace
and where there is peace, there is also beauty
Bad things tend toward other destinations,
not here though, this town was peaceful,
This town was a dream
It would be hard to be so advanced,
ahead of your time,
You would stand out,
people would stay away
You were crazy, not brilliant
its enough to drive a person mad
its enough to drive a person to death
The painting exposes the sorrow
at the hand of the creator
The night sky simple, yet unique,
a mirror of how he feels in his own world
lost because he is different
Artists feel everything, stroke by stroke
he wanted to fit in
but alas his talent was born to stand out
A lot can be said for a Starry Night Sky,
A lot.

Creative WRITE.

So I haven't actually finished, or turned anything in for my creative writing class but, I have been working really hard on some poems (BLEH) and hopefully, I will soon finish them and gain the confidence needed to post them.
As already stated, I love my teacher, I think she is fantastic.
The other day she had us do a free write because we are all "crazy english majors with a sick addiction to structure"
The idea was that she would say a word, and then we would immediately have to start writing whatever that word made us think of for three minutes, no premeditation, no thinking, just whatever was on our minds, it was honest.  I loved this because not only was I able to vent but I also found out about a lot of things that I've been kind of suppressing, or avoiding, it was really cool and I think I'll start doing them more often.
The words were:

ANGER

RED

and

PEACE

With the first two words I was shocked with just how angry I was, it was something that I think normally I would have ignored but as soon as I saw it on the paper, I felt relief.  It was nice to see my "wild side" if you will, I wasn't polishing myself for a teacher or a blog site, I was writing it for myself, it was incredible.
Though the first two words put me on edge, made me pretty upset, the third word was like a strong muscle relaxant.  It made me think of things  and people I love what I love and what I desire, it was pretty awesome.  Basically what the whole experience reminded me of (and this will be lost on everyone except Nina) was when Addison Montgomery was laying on Pete's table with needles all over her and she felt a rush of emotion.  Its cleansing, healing, but without needles in your face!

Try the exercise! It is awesome!

I hope you are all very well! :)

A week of firsts

Hi internet peoples!
This week has been crazy in more ways than one, lets just say, its been a week of firsts.
The worst being, Oh hey, my first sinus infection....super duper fun times, trust me.
On the bright side, this was also my first week of my creative writing class!  Which is super awesome!  My teacher is the sweetest person I've ever met, she is so unique and hilarious and awesome and I love, love being in this class, I might even take another one!
As I turn in assignments, I will post them on here so that you all can enjoy them!
For now however, I'm doomed to lay in bed taking nasty medication and watch reruns of HIMYM and Bones, don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining.
Anyway, this is where I leave you today dear bloggers,
and I leave you with this picture of a dancing cat

I hope this post finds you well, wherever you are,
have a wonderful day! :)

Molding the minds of our generation

I have decided that my new blog theme will be molding the minds of our generation.
Very bold, I know.
But I think I can be your one source for knowledge, a mecca of insight if you will.
Today we are going to talk about something that I questioned just this very day and  that is how is it that those annoying blinking signs on the side of the road that tell me Im going "too fast" and "over the speed limit"and what business is it of theirs to tell us what to.
Today my friend you are going to take a trip to education station and learn all about the wonders of these electronic monsters that rule the roads.
To start us off, this is exactly what I am talking about:

And this is how I feel about them:

So what are these evil little devices that cause us all so much pain?  Well they are called speed cameras, quite appropriately as they clock your speed when you approach them in a vehicle.
How do they work?
Its elementary my dear pupil, you see, the vehicle is speeding in my supposed scenario, as it passes by, an automatic radar, shoots at the center of the vehicle and calculates the speed the object is going by using a simple distance x time equation to discover the rate of the approaching vehicle.  If the car is in fact speeding, the light flashes and you are given a chance to correct your error, if you do not, a camera takes a picture of your license plate.  A background check is then done on your vehicle such as, a check through the database of stolen and rented cars, supervised by police.  The fine is then mailed to the owner go the car.  A contestation is possible if the owner was not the driver.
Back to the radar, in some cases, it uses electromagnetic waves to detect objects and determine their speed and distance.

Andddddd thats all you really need to know, if you have any questions or suggestions about what we should cover next please leave it in the comments, we will reconvene in this forum whenever the fuck I write again.

Remember, keep questioning everything.

well.....yea....

Hey bloghood,
Im currently attempting to channel my inner rapper, and to give "her" a name, I went to a very unreliable, yet amusing source:http://www.myrapname.com/

So my inner rapper is either:
Crazy Kate
Kathryn K Goddess? wahhh?
Kate Sauce
Sling K?
Kate Trixx
Lil Kate B
Phat Kate Blunt (second fav)
or my personal favorite
Delicious Angel Kate B

Now for giggles, I'll take some of my friends names and put them in and then post their first name:
Nina B - Missy NB Nugget a.k.a. XL Trixx - I wish I had made this up
Kyle B - Jaz Hazy KB
Kevin B - Kevy B Blood - this is just too good
Brandon H - Styling Branny H Flavor Love a.k.a Jiggy Cube - ? You lost me on this one
And now just for fun, my parents,
Mother - Terri T Dirty Face......please no one tell my mom about this hahaha
Father - T Baby or T Troy Dilly Bash a.k.a Slick Assassin - you be the judge, I couldn't decide.

Okay, while that was fun and highly amusing, I did have a point, for my final, I must compose a 90 second rap about myself, perform a rap that already exists, and have a rap battle, all in front of my class, and well, Im still writing my rap.
While talking about bitches and hoes probably has a minimum difficulty level, I do commend rap artists, its pretty hard to get good lyrics and a good beat and all that jazz down quickly and its proving to be quite difficult, I just hope my photographic memory doesn't let me down!
Hope your summer's are all going well!
Stay Fresh or whatever the rappers are saying these days!!
